I Believe ...
I believe the beginning of faith, is faith in the beginning. In other words, what you believe concerning how you and this universe came into existence will ultimately determine whether you put your faith in God, or put your faith in nothing. The foundation of your worldview begins there ... it's either slime + time x chance or an intelligent, eternal being, who transcends (exists outside) this universe as its creator.
I believe we live at a phenomenal time in the history of our universe. Never before has science, biology, astronomy, cosmology, physics, anthropology, archeology, etc., come into harmony with the teachings of the Bible in such an extraordinary way as too elevate Holy Scripture, as the most prophetically accurate ancient document ever written. Those who are up-to-date on the study of science and the Bible, know that in the 21st century there are more reasons to believe than ever before!
I believe - If Antony Flew, a British philosophy professor who taught at Oxford and was arguably the most vociferous atheist of our lifetime, can change his mind at the age of 81 and admit that he could no longer hold to evolutionary theory, because there was no reasonable explanation for "the first emergence of living from non-living matter", going on to say that after reading the first chapter of Genesis, he's impressed that a book written thousands of years ago harmonized with 21st century science - there is hope for everyone.
I believe "What may be known about God is plain to us, because God has made it plain to us. Since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." (Romans 1:19,20)
I believe, as R.C. Sproul once put it, there are only two responses in life. Either we say to God, "Have it your way", or God says to us, "Have it your way." Truly the fact that our creator gives us the freedom to either agree with Him and do what pleases Him, or reject Him and live our life the way we choose, is amazing! It's also amazing that instead of being grateful for all that God has given, some people choose to live out their life, "on their own terms", apart from God.
