I have learned to live in the present - one day at a time. Someone said, yesterday is history, tomorrow’s a mystery and today is a gift. That's why they call it the present! Martyred missionary Jim Eliot once wrote, “Wherever you are, be all there,” not living in the past and not fantasizing about the future. God wants you in the present because that’s where His grace will flow.
My home now is Marietta, Georgia. I moved here in 1989. I love it here! Marietta reminds me of what it was like growing up in the Napa Valley before the wine industry came in and changed everything. Here's one thing most people find interesting; when I grew up in Napa, grapes were not the primary agricultural crop ... it was plums and walnuts. It was a marketing venture (during the late 60's) that eventually put Napa on the map as the "go-to-winery-spot" and turned it into a bedroom community for the wealthy of the world. It has never been the same since.
Since stepping out of full-time ministry (1989) I have been an entrepreneur. I developed (now patented), a unique method of exercise that allows anyone to get and stay physically fit, by exercising only ten minutes a day. The company is called Fitex Solutions. The product, called FIT10TM, was for a time marketed via infomercials and QVC. Today, FIT10 remains (in my humble opinion) one of the best way to get and stay in shape.
Having worked with many physicians over the years, I became intrigued with the growing frustration doctors were encountering—because of the lack of technology solutions available—preventing them from automating and streamlining the patient work-flow process. This led to the development of one of the first wireless-computerized-patient-data-entry systems for physicians, eliminating the need for paper charts. Today, I serve on the board of directors for WiFiMed Holdings, Inc (now public), and help market our primary product EncounterPRO.
I have been a professional speaker for over 30 years and continue to enjoy giving keynote addresses, lectures, seminars, etc., for companies, organizations and churches.
